Janet says the Japanese Americans made the most out of the situation o being in camp. Janice also says her mother remembers the guard tower and the riflemen the most at Manzanar. Janet says their grandmother never talked about the camp experience, nor did Janet ask her about camp. Their grandmother wanted to study music and likes to sing, but that never happens. Janet and Janice's grandmother passed away in 1965.

On a hot day, Sadao wants to go swimming and goes to the community swimming pool. However, he shortly comes back because he is not allowed to swim. Janice believes the family lives in Glendale, CA, at that time. In a center in Italy, Sadao's name is engraved as Sadao "Spud" Munemori. Sadao gets the nickname "Spud" because he likes potatoes.

Partial Transcript: Janice says there is a difference between the Mainland Nisei and Hawaiian Nisei with their dialect. Janice says Stanley only knows Sadao during wartime. Stanley shared a story when they were in Italy climbing a mountain. Stanley and Sadao are close buddies. Growing up, Janice knows her uncle Sadao is a war hero and dies in Italy. At the time, he is the only Japanese American to receive the Medal of Honor. Later the Japanese Americans are upgraded to receive the Medal of Honor through the efforts of Senator Daniel Akaka.
